The use of Non-Lethal or Less-Lethal Weapons has brought about a major shift in tactics and alternatives to both the military and law enforcement communities over the last twenty years. Prior to the introduction of these types of weapons and products, law enforcement officers and military personnel had limited options in dealing with situations, that while very serious in nature, may not have required the use of “deadly force,” such as a firearm. Even in situations where deadly force was not applied, tactics and techniques often placed officers and soldiers at risk for serious injury and even death. The same could be said for suspects on the receiving end of these scenarios. Hence the need for a new type of weapon system that could “fill the void” to avoid unnecessary injuries and or death. |
